Food aid distributed to 1,000 families in Parwan

KABUL (AIP): Food assistance has been distributed to one thousand families in Parwan province as part of a newly launched aid project by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).
The distribution ceremony was held on Saturday (Feb. 21) and was attended by Parwan Governor Sheikh Azizur Rahman Mansoor, Director of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs Haji Amanullah Mujahid, Director of Economy Hafiz Mujibullah Rahimi, a number of other officials, officials of the relief organization, and a number of dignitaries.
During the ceremony, which was held at the Charikar City Sports Stadium, government officials thanked the King Salman Charity Foundation for its support to the needy during the month of Ramadan and the winter season.
Officials stated in their speeches that, based on a survey, food items including flour, rice, sugar, beans, and oil are being distributed to one thousand families in the provincial capital, Charikar, and in the Ghorband district of the province.
The assistance is being distributed in coordination with the local administration and with the technical support of the Tohid Organization. Beneficiaries include poor families, internally displaced persons, returnee refugee families, widows, and orphans.
Officials added that the project has previously been implemented in several other provinces, including Paktia, Paktika, and Khost.
With the start of Ramadan, the KSreleif launched a new aid distribution campaign which has already been completed in some areas and remains ongoing in others. Ends
